Optimal Planning of Integrated Energy System Considering Convertibility Index

Nowadays, developing an integrated energy system (IES) is considered as effective pattern to improve efficiency and reduce supply costs. This study proposes a new index—convertibility index (CI)—to quantitatively assess the flexibility of IES regarding conversion processes between different flow types. Based on CI constraint, planning problem modeled bi-level optimization problem. To solve proposed problem, hybrid genetic algorithm (GA)—MILP algorithm—is developed. A case carried out verify effectiveness method. The results show that total cost will increase with constraint. For given study, increases by 26.2% when decreases 0.7 3.7% 1.6. Sensitivity analysis shows numbers capacities devices overall increasing trend in CIs. Meanwhile, quickly at first then slightly increases, which, whole, “Nike” shape. With constraints, MW per ranges from 31.8 37.5 MW, average 2.229 million yuan (2.1%/0.1 CI).
